Welcome Address by the Director
On the Occasion of the 7th Anniversary and Award Giving Ceremony of Smart Mathematical Centre (SMC)
Distinguished Chairman of the Day,
Our esteemed awardees, respected guests, ladies and gentlemen,
It gives me great joy and honour to welcome you all to the 7th Anniversary and Award Giving Ceremony of Smart Mathematical Centre.
This milestone is more than just the passing of time—it is a celebration of vision, resilience, and impact. Over the past seven years, we have worked to nurture young minds, promote a love for mathematics, and equip future leaders with problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom. None of this would have been possible without the support of parents, the commitment of our teachers, and the encouragement of friends and partners who believed in our mission.
Today is also special because we are here to honour outstanding individuals and organizations whose contributions in education, community service, and humanitarian support inspire us all. Their dedication reminds us that excellence is not an accident—it is the product of sacrifice, passion, and consistency.
As we celebrate, let us not only look back with gratitude but also forward with renewed commitment: to education, to excellence, and to the noble cause of raising a generation that will make our nation proud.
On behalf of the management and staff of Smart Mathematical Centre, I say thank you for joining us to mark this occasion. I warmly welcome you, and I wish us all a memorable celebration.
Thank you.
Goodwill messages by Rev. Julius Msheliza (Chairman of the occasion).

Good day everyone,
The Chairman of this audacious occasion,
The organizers of this great event,
Distinguished guests, respected teachers, beloved parents, and my fellow students here present — permit me to specially honour my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Duru.
All other protocols duly observed.
Today, I stand before you to motivate us — especially the students — with seven powerful quotes on Mathematics.
🔹 Powerful Quotes on Mathematics
1. “Mathematics is the language in which God has written the universe.” – Galileo Galilei
2. “Without mathematics, there’s nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.” – Shakuntala Devi
3. “Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.” – Albert Einstein
4. “The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple.” – S. Gudder
5. “Mathematics knows no races or geographic boundaries; for mathematics, the cultural world is one country.” – David Hilbert
6. “Go down deep enough into anything and you will find mathematics.” – Dean Schlicter
7. “The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics.” – Paul Halmos
And before I end, I want us to repeat the last quote together. Say it with me:
“The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics.”
Thank you so much for listening, and may mathematics continue to inspire us all.
Speech on Mathematics Slogans by Amb. Fortune Ikechukwu Onyema on the Special Occasion of the 7th Anniversary & Award Giving Ceremony of Smart Mathematical Centre (SMC)
Good afternoon, Ladies and gentlemen.
Before I begin, let me first give honour to whom honour is due:
The Chairman of this great occasion,
The organizers of this event, Smart Mathematical Centre,
Distinguished Guests, School owners, Head Teachers, Teachers, Parents, and students here present,
And permit me to specially recognize my parents.(Mr and Mrs Onyema)
All other protocols duly observed.
My assignment today is very simple. I am here to share with you some mathematics slogans — short, powerful sayings we use in the classroom that keep us motivated and make us love mathematics with passion.
🔹 Mathematics Slogans
1. “Mathematics: The Language of Everyone, Everywhere.”
2. “Numbers Unite Us All.”
(The principles of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division remain the same everywhere in the world.)
3. “Mathematics is Life, Mathematics is for All.”
(Yes, mathematics is for all — lawyers, doctors, traders, farmers, musicians, accountants, and many more.)
4. “Where Logic Meets Life.”
5. “Mathematics: A Universal Key to Understanding.”
(Mathematics sharpens our brains and helps us understand other things better.)
6. “Math is Not for Some, Math is for Everyone.”
(As I have said before, it is for every profession — both educated and non-educated.)
7. “In Every Step of Life, Mathematics Counts.”
(Truly, we cannot do without it.)
8. “Mathematics Builds Minds, Minds Build the Future.”
(This is very deep — mathematics builds minds, and those minds go on to build the future.)
9. “Math: Simple, Beautiful, and for Everyone.”
(Yes, mathematics is beautiful and very simple. I know some people here may not agree with me on this one — but I assure you, mathematics is indeed simple!)
10. “Mathematics — The Common Ground of Humanity.”
Time will not permit me to continue. But I believe these slogans show us clearly that mathematics is not a subject to be feared, but one to be loved, embraced, and celebrated.
Thank you so much for listening. And may God, the Creator of mathematics and the very first Mathematician, bless you all in a truly mathematical way, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Speech on “Mathematics is for Everyone” by Amb. Splendor Praiseworth on the Special Occasion of the 7th Anniversary & Award Giving Ceremony of Smart Mathematical Centre (SMC)
Good afternoon,
The Chairman of the occasion.
The organizer ( Mr Smart and his team)
Members of the high table.
The honourable awardees
Respected Teachers and Parents,
My Parents ( Pastor and Pastor Mrs Praiseworth)
My fellow students and my dear friends
Gentle men of the press
Distinguish ladies and gentlemen.
It is my great pleasure to stand before you today to speak on a topic that touches every one of us: “Mathematics is for Everyone.”
Many times, when people hear the word “Mathematics,” they immediately think it is a subject meant only for geniuses, scientists, or people who want to become engineers. Some even say, “Mathematics is not for me” or “I was never good at numbers.” But the truth is this: mathematics is for everyone.
Mathematics is not just about solving equations on a chalkboard. It is the very language of life. When a trader gives change in the market, when a cook measures ingredients, when a farmer counts crops, when we check the time, or even when we use our phones—mathematics is at work. Whether we realize it or not, numbers, patterns, and logical thinking guide our everyday lives.
One of the beauties of mathematics is that it teaches us how to think. It trains the mind to be logical, to analyze problems, and to find solutions. These skills are not reserved for mathematicians alone—they are useful for doctors, lawyers, artists, business people, and even musicians. In fact, music is filled with rhythm and patterns, which are pure mathematics.
Mathematics also breaks barriers. It is a universal language. No matter your culture, background, or language, “2 + 2 = 4” remains the same everywhere in the world. This makes mathematics a powerful tool for unity and progress in our society.
Therefore, no one should say, “Mathematics is not for me.” Instead, we should say, “Mathematics is part of me.” I want everybody to echo it together with me (Mathematics is part of me). Whether you are young or old, educated or uneducated, male or female—mathematics belongs to all of us.
In conclusion, mathematics is not a subject to be feared, but a friend to be embraced. It is not just for classrooms and exams—it is for everyday living. Truly, mathematics is for everyone.
Thank you.
Closing Prayer by Akachukwu Kamsi.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the success of today’s program—the 7th Anniversary and Award Giving Ceremony of Smart Mathematical Centre.
Thank You for journey mercies granted to everyone who came, for the lives that have been celebrated, and for the honours bestowed on our distinguished awardees.
Lord, we commit every school head, student, teacher, parent, and guest into Your hands. May the lessons and inspiration from today bear fruit in our lives. Bless the vision of Smart Mathematical Centre, and let it continue to grow in wisdom, excellence, and impact.
We also ask for blessing upon every awardee and parent present here today – that they may continue to inspire us and make lasting impact in our society. May the seed of knowledge sown here continue to flourish in the lives of all learners.
As we depart from here, grant us safety on our way home, and may Your presence go with us. May we gather again in joy and greater success in the years ahead.
This we pray, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
